{"id":11618,"date":"2007-01-19T12:08:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-19T17:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/todayslegacy.wordpress.com\/2007\/01\/19\/drinking-cup"},"modified":"2007-01-19T12:08:00","modified_gmt":"2007-01-19T17:08:00","slug":"drinking-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/todayslegacy.net\/index.php\/2007\/01\/19\/drinking-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Drinking Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www1.istockphoto.com\/file_thumbview_approve\/1038380\/2\/istockphoto_1038380_tin_cup.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"207\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www1.istockphoto.com\/file_thumbview_approve\/1038380\/2\/istockphoto_1038380_tin_cup.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> <span style=\"color:#996633;\">So today&#8217;s my 22<span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">nd<\/span> birthday and in light of my birthday, I went to an all-day seminar on <em>Death and Dying<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#996633;\">The prof of this seminar was a fun-loving storyteller of life experiences. He was such a grandfather figure and his stories about life made the seminar so worth attending. [His Hungarian accent was fun too.]<\/span><span style=\"color:#996633;\">While there were many stories of laughter, others just captured the unspeakable value of God-given human life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#996633;\">One such story arose in a quieter moment of the seminar. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#996633;\">I want to share it with you, in his own words;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">&#8216;There was a bunch of Jews and they were taken off to the Holocaust and killed&#8230;.<\/span><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">And the people were coming back and getting more. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">And there was a boy &#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">and we took him and took a drinking cup of water &#8230;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">and he was screaming because he didn&#8217;t know what we were doing&#8230;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">But we baptised him. We said the words and all&#8230;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">And we ran down the road to the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">priest<\/span> and we told him we baptised him and he gave out a certificate of baptismal right then and there&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">He signed it right away and handed it to us&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">And he wasn&#8217;t taken off to the Holocaust&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">All he had to have was proof that he wasn&#8217;t a Jew&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\">&#8230;.. that priest handed out a lot of certificates&#8230;..&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#cc9933;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So today&#8217;s my 22nd birthday and in light of my birthday, I went to an all-day seminar on Death and Dying.
