Send some rain, would You send some rain?<\/span>
‘Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again<\/span>
And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade<\/span>
Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud?<\/span>
Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down<\/span>
Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid…<\/span>
<\/span>
But maybe not, <\/span><\/em>
not today<\/span><\/em>
Maybe You’ll provide in other ways<\/span><\/em>
And if that’s the case . . .<\/em>
<\/span>
We’ll give thanks to You<\/span><\/strong>
With gratitude<\/span><\/strong>
For lessons learned in how to thirst for You<\/span><\/strong>
How to bless the very sun that warms our face<\/span><\/strong>
If You never send us rain…<\/strong>
<\/span>
Daily bread, give us daily bread<\/span>
Bless our bodies, keep our children fed<\/span>
Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight<\/span>
Wrap us up and warm us through<\/span>
Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs<\/span>
Let us slumber safe from danger’s view this time<\/span>
<\/span>
Or maybe not, <\/span><\/em>
not today<\/span><\/em>
Maybe You’ll provide in other ways<\/span><\/em>
And if that’s the case . . .<\/em><\/p>\n

We’ll give thanks to You<\/strong><\/span>
With gratitude <\/span><\/strong>
A lesson learned to hunger after You<\/span><\/strong>
That a starry sky offers a better view if no roof is overhead <\/span><\/strong>
And if we never taste that bread…<\/strong>
<\/span>
Oh, the differences that often are between<\/span>
What we want and what we really need…
<\/span>
<\/span>
So grant us peace, Jesus, grant us peace<\/span>
Move our hearts to hear a single beat<\/span>
Between alibis and enemies tonight<\/span>
<\/span>
Or maybe not, <\/span><\/em>
not today<\/span><\/em>
Peace might be another world away<\/span><\/em>
And if that’s the case . . .<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

We’ll give thanks to You<\/span><\/strong>
With gratitude<\/span><\/strong>
For lessons learned in how to trust in You<\/span><\/strong>
That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream<\/span><\/strong>
In abundance or in need<\/span><\/strong>
