“the moon” played by Abi. (picking her belly because it was nearing nap time)<\/p>\n

“Bear” played by Rachael.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“One night Bear looked up at the sky and thought, wouldn’t it be nice to give the moon a birthday present.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” ‘Hello, Moon!’ he shouted. “<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“But the moon did not reply.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“So Bear paddled across the river…”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“hiked through the forest and into the mountains.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” Now I am much closer to the moon, thought Bear… ‘Hello!! “<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“This time his own voice echoed, ‘ Hello!”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” ‘ What would you want for your birthday?’ asked Bear.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

‘What would you want for your birthday?’ asked the Moon.<\/p>\n

‘I would like a hat.’<\/p>\n

‘I would like a hat,’ said the moon.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” He went downtown and bought the moon a beautiful hat.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“That night he put the hat up in a tree where the moon could find it. Then he waited and watched while the moon slowly crept up through the branches and tried on the hat.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” ‘Hurray!’ yelled Bear. ‘It fits just right!’ “<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“During the night the hat fell out of the tree.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“In the morning Bear found the hat on his doorstep.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” ‘So the moon got me a hat too!’ exclaimed Bear.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“Just then the wind blew Bear’s hat off his head…”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“He chased after it but it got away.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

“That night Bear paddled across the river…”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” and hiked through the forest…”<\/p>\n

“to talk with the moon.”<\/p>\n

(Awww, look how sad. Poor Bear.)<\/p>\n

“For a long time the moon would not speak to him, so bear spoke first.”<\/p>\n

” ‘I lost the beautiful hat you gave me, ‘ said Bear.”<\/p>\n

” ‘I lost the beautiful hat you gave me, ‘ said the moon.”<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a><\/p>\n

” ‘That’s okay, I still love you!’ said Bear. “<\/p>\n

” ‘That’s okay, I still love you!’ said the moon. “<\/p>\n

” ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!’ said Bear. “<\/p>\n
