No, not a hug at the door as they dance into intentionality crafted lesson plans. This time it was outside of the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have your passports? Here&#8217;s your bags.<\/p>\n<p>The hustle and bustle. The chaos and confusion amidst goodbye hugs.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately they were absorbed into the airport rush. A swarm of uniforms and smiling faces. Passports checked and on to ticketing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why are you going to Mozambique?&#8221; she was questioned while struggling to keep track of her baggage and her preschooler in tow.<\/p>\n<p>She and her sister choked back hysterical laughter as they later told me of elaborate broken computer problems in ticketing and malfunctioning staplers played out by familiar faces.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the lady speaking French that no one understood. What exactly were they supposed to do with their bags? Body language overcame language barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Then extra fees for stuffed animals! And confiscated toothpaste!!<\/p>\n<p>And that delayed flight that took &#8220;forever&#8221; of just waiting&#8230; and waiting&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Why not use the bathroom while you wait? Only to discover your bags stolen upon your return!<\/p>\n<p>Calming a sad four year old.\u00a0Finally you were able to board the plane.<\/p>\n<p>No snacks for anyone not in first class.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Turbulence!!!&#8221; as the walls rattle and the girls struggled to relay that part through choking laughter.<\/p>\n<p>And then finally you successfully arrived in Africa!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15787\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15787\" style=\"width: 3648px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15787\" src=\"https:\/\/todayslegacy.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/09\/p1019673.jpg\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" width=\"3648\" height=\"2736\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15787\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The teachers here never cease to amaze me with their dedication in even the tiniest details.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I just adore how the teachers are so intentional to prepare these little\u00a0ones for life ahead. Such deliberation. Such intentionality.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, of course, they add in the fun. Afterall, they do just adore these little ones. But a hint of experienced truth permeates the lessons. Intentionality breathes confidence into little hearts, encouraging, &#8220;You can do this. Even when it goes wrong. This is doable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I love how the teachers are shaping their new normal.<\/p>\n<p>Familiarity.<\/p>\n<p>Encouraging helpfulness.<\/p>\n<p>Easing anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One deliberate\u00a0step at a time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Thankful, grateful and beyond blessed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It wasn&#8217;t a normal goodbye in their classrooms.
